-
- ColorSync, Apple’s new color-matching architecture for the Macintosh, is a
- system extension that enables consistent color across the system. This
- extension will provide system level color matching services to all
- applications, scanners, displays and printers. ColorSync allows for the color
- of the original art you scan to be the same color that appears on your
- display--and the color you see on the display will be the same when it is
- printed.
-
- The result will be more consistent and predictable color-matching results from
- all of your color applications, whether you are producing desktop presentations
- and newsletters or color film separations.
-
- ColorSync provides both the ability to match between input, display and output
- as well as new capabilities, such as the ability to preview the color matched
- document, which applications can take advantage of in the future.
-
- Installation is easy. Simply drag the Macintosh ColorSync icon to your System 7
- Folder and restart your Macintosh. ColorSync then becomes part of the Macintosh
- operating system and provides the foundation for:
-
- Matched color every time
- With ColorSync savvy solutions you can count on consistent, predictable color
- results. Through a profile, ColorSync knows the specific characteristics of
- each scanner, monitor, or printer you use, and then a sophisticated algorithm
- provides the best color match from one device to the next. It’s all that most
- people need to produce documents with outstanding color fidelity.
-
- System-level simplicity
- ColorSync provides color matching at the system level. This means you can
- install ColorSync and then forget about it. ColorSync operates behind the
- scenes, providing color matching services to the application and device
- drivers.
-
- A platform for additional color-matching methods
- Another important advantage of ColorSync is that--thanks to its open
- architecture--it provides a platform for developers to add to or customize with
- other, specialized color-matching models for enhanced speed or color fidelity.
